Track 1: Racial Justice Tikkun Olam Group
The group will meet this Sunday during Adult Group. We’re evaluating our previous year of study and reflection and have some great ideas for next year, including a trip to the African American History Museum, an IFFP-wide novel read, and finding local partners for collaboration. Bring your ideas and we’ll discuss the future. Can’t make it, but interested? Contact Cheryl Leanza at email@example.com
Track 2: Youth Climate Summit
This Sunday, IFFP is pleased to host the Youth Climate Summit USA, a network of high school students dedicated to one goal: providing young people with the skills and connections we need to be better climate advocates. The organization was started by students at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland, but has since expanded to cities across the country. The organization hosts yearly conference-style summits, with speakers, panelists, and workshop leaders from across the environmental movement, to educate youth participants about the seriousness of climate change and power of our voices in solving it. The organization prioritizes youth leadership and youth involvement. Put simply, its mission is to give youth the tools to take control of their future. Currently, the group is organizing a youth climate summit on April 26th in downtown Silver Spring.
