Josh Bernstein, Treasurer
Josh and his family have been members of IFFP for 10 years, since his eldest daughter was born. He is looking forward to continuing to serve the community by serving on the IFFP board. He is the Jewish spouse in his interfaith family, married to Jill (raised Catholic), whom he met in college, since 2003, and they have three kids. He was raised reform Jewish, but with exposure to a wide variety of Jewish paths in his extended family, from ultra-Orthodox to interfaith marriage. He likes to bike, camp, snowboard, and generally spend time outdoors with his family, and relax with friends, travel, and catch live music whenever possible. He has previous volunteer leadership experience serving on the board of the Takoma Park Cooperative Nursery School (2013-2014) and as a leader of the Boston chapter of the Tikkun Community / Network of Spiritual Progressives (2003-2006). In his day job, he is a Research Audiologist at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he serves as a Principal Investigator directing a research program in hearing loss and cochlear implants. Part of his work includes formulating and overseeing budgets and coordinating government contracts, administrative experiences which will serve him well in his role as the IFFP Treasurer.
