Seth Gitter has been a member of IFFP since 2010. Seth was raised Jewish in central Ohio. Seth and his wife Marie Mapes were married by a Methodist Pastor and a Jewish cantor. Their daughters Sylvia (2nd grade) and Dorothy (4 years old) attend Sunday School at IFFP. Seth also has many important and strong relationships in the polyamorous community of DC. In his spare time, Seth enjoys baseball, homebrewing, and running. Professionally, Seth is an Associate Professor of Economics at Towson University. He received his PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his BA from Grinnell College. His work focuses on improving health and education for families in the World’s poorest countries. He has published at Fivethirtyeight and the World Bank Economic Review. As a member of the IFFP board, he will use professional training as both a teacher and economist that values listening, learning and analytics.
