IFFP COMMUNITY SERVICE EVENT ON SUNDAY, JAN. 19TH,  2020, FROM 12 PM – 2 PM (MLK WEEKEND)

The MLK Day of Service empowers individuals, strengthens communities, bridges barriers, creates solutions to social problems, and moves us closer to Dr. King’s vision of a “Beloved Community.” To honor Dr. King, IFFP again signed up to volunteer as a community on Sunday, Jan. 19th, from noon-2 pm, at A Wider Circle’s Center for Community, located at 9159 Brookville Road, Silver Spring, MD  20910 — at the corner of Warren Street and Brookville Road.  A Wider Circle redistributes furniture, home goods, and toys to individuals and families transitioning out of homeless situations or living without life’s necessities. Volunteers will help sort donations, restock showrooms, and assist clients as they are select items to take home. Feel free to bring items to donate (scroll down): http://awidercircle.org/get-involved/ Our slot holds 60 volunteers. Children can volunteer with adult supervision. A headcount is requested. Please email Randi Field at scribers@verizon.net, for parking instructions and waiver forms.
